OK, I just got off the phone with a very nice Gentlemen from the US Department of Commerce.
The embargo against Cuba is still in effect, however there are items on which regulations have been lossened this includes certain high-level encryption items. The recomendation by the US Department of Commerce would be to contact the compliance officer over at Hortonworks and haven them check if this item actually falls under the restrictions. The US Department of Commerce also advised me that these high-level encryption items are also regulated separetly by Individual nations and International treaties. The first step would be to contact Hortonworks compliance officer and see if indeed this item falls under such restrictions and then go from there. Hope this helps! Greetings!
