Hi, My general feeling is this is the type of integration that either works right away, or you have to get your hands dirty into the code. OpenJPA and Bitronix don't seem to see eye-to-eye and I don't know whose side is at fault. Regardless, I'd say getting to the bottom of it will require a good understanding of the code.
Any reason you're not using the pre-packaged Tranql transaction manager? (mode=internal).
