Hi Phillip,

I was Vadoing the similar things and I took the Open Gizmo and Large Widget example to start with. I did thought the xml data load. Best way (in my opinion) is to make a copy of the existing stuff in the file (Features, Feature Categories, Product Association etc), modify to suite your requirements and import that file or xml fragment through webtools. Go back to your catalog and test. I also advise to keep the demo page opened to compare your configuration with the demo application.

It did not work for me on first instance. It needed couple of iterations of error and trial. Webtool import is so handy that I love it and you can do things very quickly.

In summary you would need to do:

1. Create a virtual product.
2. Create variant products.
3. Create product prices for virtual and (or) variants
4. Create Product feature category
5. Create Product features
6. Apply features to the virtual product
7. Apply features to the variants
8. Associate variants with the virtual product
9. Assign your virtual product to a category.

If you follow the DemoProduct.xml you will find these steps in same sequence as above.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,

Raj

Thanks,

Raj

I am trying to manually setup something like the "Open Gizmo" product that
contains a dropdown containing licences.

I have a "License" displayed in the drop down, but I can not get the different
types of licenses (BSD, LGPL, etc) to display in the dropdown.

What could be the missing piece? I linked the added the BSD feature to my
Non-Virtual product, and linked all the Non-Virtual products to my Virtual
product.

Clues appreciated since my head hurts now.
Thanks
Phillip
