I have swapped out DBCPConnectionFactory for MinervaConnectionFactory and all seems to be working. However, I have not been able to get the DBCPConnectionFactory to fail here at home, so I expect only a long term test will tell the tail.
What I am wondering is why the decision was made to switch DBCPConnectionFactory instead of the existing MinervaConnectionFactory. I ask this question because I am wondering if the benefits of using DBCPConnectionFactory would justify the considerable effort that would be required to chase this down. I spent all day reading about these two connection pool implementations and can't see why one would use one over the other. I am hoping that someone can point me to some reading or give me a short synopsis. Skip No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG.
