Ok but if you can't relaibly reproduce it on the demo, or other databases, then it must point to something with PostgreSQL and in particular PostgreSQL e.g. 8.3 so if you use a profiler to capture the request from ofbiz to PostgreSQL e.g. 8.3, then see if running that Query produces the problem you have something to go to the PostgreSQL ml with.
