for applications that are accepted into ofbiz Trunk they will appear in the application or specialpurposes. if you have an application that you want to provide ad-hoc then it would go in the hot-deploy and a clean way to add functionality to an already existing ofbiz syststem that is running, with out worrying about configuration of files.
