I buy few programs, but with all the tax rules and their changes every year
I'm pretty satisfied to pay a yearly license fee for my booking/accounting
program. It's bargain money and it is worth it.

I wouldn't rely on the accounting part in Ofbiz only. I see it as a
supplement to gather and get base data to the economy staff, not as a fully
blown economy suite for your company.
