These are know as external payments. so the order is put on hold till the payment is received. Hold means not more processing of the order. https://demo.ofbiz.org/ordermgr/control/orderview?orderId=DEMO10090 is how you view an order you would go to the payment section and make a payment when Money order/check was cleared to your satisfaction. this would then put the order in Approved status so it could be processed for shipping. not sure the process for COD since I don't use it.
