This is Business Intelligence software that is used heavily by analysts who do forecasting and deal with business metrics. To get into this stuff requires a bit of immersion into the language and the concepts used by business analysts, but it's pretty interesting if you need to do complex, arbitrary reporting on a large volume of data. A good place to start as an OFBiz user is with the Opentaps distribution, which has some Pentaho integration already. Pentaho itself is an enormous project that has a very active community. There's enough material here: http://www.pentaho.com/ to keep you busy for months. I hope the Pentaho/OFBiz integration improves, because I see great potential for the ETL and reporting layers to fill a very important niche that is left open by OFBiz so far.
