Jacopo is the most knowledgeable about this.
if you have followed best practices in modifying code, you should be
able to copy and paste you code to any version.
part of the trunk upgrade was to move to big decimal and java ver 1.6
this makes a lot of code in the trunk not able to move back to 1.5
you should be able to run 9.04 with java 1.6, though.

you can go through the commit mail list since 9.04 was released and find
all the commits to applications/accounting, to review what can be added
to 9.04
