Yes this sounds logical indeed. Actually we don't use the resolved status yet and this would be a good reason to use it. I'd say,
yes good idea!
If everybody agree, I will put a note about that in our contributors best
practices.

I am finally getting back to cleaning up some of the java warnings in the code, working through special purpose right now. My
question for you was if it is ok to be marking these as "resolved" as I add the patch file that resolves the issue. The reason
being, it is helping me keep track of the sub-tasks that have been handled vs. the ones that have not.
In the best practices, it only says that the contributors like to move things directly to closed when they are handled. But as
someone that would like be a contributor (but is not) it is nice to be able to look at my unresolved issues and see which ones I
have completed a patch for and which ones I have not.
