reserve inventory = false is mostly used for the POS where you don't need to have an inventory check since you can't sell face to
face something you don't have.
So I don't think it's the right way to do what you want and I suspect you will
have to write your own code for that...
Of course you may contribute it back creating a Jira an attaching a patch. But
before maybe you could discuss it here
