We used it as a starting point and added inspections, engineering controls, reporting, and other features that we needed for our business. I suggested it because, having worked in an engineering college myself, I know that supply, inventory, and accounting controls can be a nightmare of a mess, and I wish I'd had a system like OFBiz in those days. On the other hand, I'm having a hard time seeing a business / information system platform as a starting point for a Computer Science Engineering project.
