There is an option to give products in a category a quantity (on the ProductCategoryMember), and then a customer can add the entire category to the cart, with the quantity for each product as it's corresponding quantity on the ProductCategoryMember.
With this approach you can have the same product in multiple categories with different quantities too. For example, you could have a two categories that represent recipes for cookies, one requiring bag of chocolate chips, and a more aggressive recipe that calls for two bags.
