Christian, You are correct. When registering production rejection on a task it should be reflected on the production header and on subsequent tasks. In your scenario it should result in total rejected products 2 vs total manufactured products 0.
This should also be reflected on the overview of tasks. With such a registered output the production run should be able to be completed and closed. But it can't. I will register a bug for it in JIRA.
