Hi All

The OFBiz website contains some really old news items so I will remove them.

Depending on the number of items - in future perhaps we can set a time limit
(e.g last 12 months) that items remain as active 'News'.
Perhaps a shorter time (1 week-6 months) to see if it is still relevant and new or something that should be converted to a normal page - feature, event history, customer story - rather than a news item if the information is still useful or interesting from a history POV.

A bit of judgment may be required - a news item about a new release may still be newsworthy for a long time if there has not been a release since then. A conference announcement looks pretty dated a week after the conference takes place and needs rewriting immediately if only to change the tense of the verbs.

Nothing costs credibility faster than a site that has "news" announcing (or worse- "a call for speakers for") a conference that took place 3 months ago.
It hints that the community has been inactive since then.

Having said that, I had better go look at my site again!!!

Ron

Thanks
Sharan
