Michael, Thanks. The base registers can vary per country, and thus the postcodes (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_postal_codes).
In the Netherlands we can validate a complete set of address details by solely providing a postcode, a house number and a house number addition. See enclosed entry screenlet and the resulting screenlet for the postcode and house no of the Alfa brewery in my town. I don't know whether other countries have the same approaches. And some countries don't even use postcodes (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_code). I do know that there are service providers out there providing access to their apis, but most often that comes with a price. And there aren't many client side solutions available in Java and/or Groovy. But there are plenty written in PHP for other web solutions (e-Commerce plugins). It is a pity that we can't exploit that more (e.g. with a <event type=“php” path="component://phpcomponentl/script/php/phpcodefile.php”/> Best regards, Pierre Smits *ORRTIZ.COM <http://www.orrtiz.com>* Services & Solutions for Cloud- Based Manufacturing, Professional Services and Retail & Trade http://www.orrtiz.com On Mon, Mar 9, 2015 at 8:39 PM, Michael Brohl <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Pierre, > > that sounds interesting! > > Is this supposed to be shared with the community? > Will it work for other countries as well? > > Thanks and regards, > > Michael > ecomify.de >
