Hi Everyone Before we start getting into the preparations for Apachecon Core NA, I wanted to let everyone know that there is an open source event called FOSDEM happening on the 30th and 31st January 2016 in Brussels.
https://fosdem.org/2016/ This isnt an Apache run event although normally the OpenOffice project has a big presence there. The event is *free* and held at the University so I suspect that there will be a lot of students as well as others ; It sounds like it could be a really good event to attend just because of the number of expected attendees; The call for participation is currently open an due to close on 16th October. People can submit proposals for talks or even request a development room ; https://fosdem.org/2016/news/2015-09-24-call-for-participation/ The ASF are wanting to have a stronger presence for 2016 and have requested a couple of stands. I've volunteered to help out with the ASF stand so am planning to be there for the whole weekend. I wasn't too sure about submitting talks for it this time because I'd like to find out if an OFBiz presentation or development room could fit there in the future . While I'm there this time, I think it would be good : - to have some marketing material available that we can give out to people about what OFBiz and what it can do - to possibly have an OFBiz demo available to show people Also I think it would be good to see if we could organise an informal OFBiz meetup in Brussels during the event - so if anyone else is interested in coming along then please let me know.
