Hi Everyone

This is a reminder that the applications for travel funding to attend
Apachecon NA in Vancouver closes on 2nd March 2016.

If you want to go to Apachecon but cannot due to financial reasons then you
can apply to the Travel Assistance Committee (TAC) for the cost of your
flights, accommodation, living expenses and the cost of entry to Apachecon
itself.

At Apachecon in Budapest the TAC members asked us to communicate to our
communities that :

- You do not need to be a Committer to apply for funding, anyone that is
part of an Apache project community can apply
- You do not need to have submitted a presentation to apply for travel
funding
- The people that receive travel funding are expected to help out throughout
Apachecon as the conference volunteers (which is nice because you meet a lot
of people from other Apache projects!)
- You do not need to live in Apachecon host country or region to apply for
funding (e.g. TAC funded people from India, Africa and Canada for Apachecon
EU 2015)

In 2014 I applied for and received travel funding from TAC to attend
Apachecon EU in Budapest. It was a fantastic experience and I'd recommend
anyone wanting to attend an Apachecon to apply.

Applications are still open if you want to go to Vancouver, I've included
the link below :

Thanks
Sharan
