Hi Jacques ,
by slack i meant some sort of chatroom only. I see that hipchat is almost
like slack.
Yes I know Slack, I have used it with a team during one year. There are pro and
cons aspects.
While I must say I enjoyed working with it with a small team, I also understand
(and support) the cons aspects some wrote about.
In one word I prefer to answer async, because there is no "intrusions", I can
decide when I answer.
This preserves the context I have in mind which takes sometimes some time to "load" or
"reload"...
BTW Slack is far better (actually incomparable) than HipChat (that the ASF has
for free, unlike Slack)
good to know . may be we mention it @ http://ofbiz.apache.org/community.html
I agree with the distinction of purposes of chatroom and mailing list.
We have a "OFBiz Chat Room (HipChat)" link on main page
But that's a good idea I'll put a link there too

Gripe: I wish there were a slack channel for ofbiz , it would have been so

Please NO :D (maybe more fun for you ;))
Async (ie emails) exchanges are more suited for people offering small
amount of time while working on paid custom projects, long discussions or
repeated exchanges don't fit...
That's why I recently changed the title/topic on our HipChat room from
"Apache OFBiz"
to
"Apache OFBiz Room. This is more for chatting. For technical questions,
it's better to ask on [email protected]. See:
http://ofbiz.apache.org/mailing-lists.html Thanks"
