Welcome aboard David. Documentation is one area where we had multiple discussions in the past and it's in the process of getting updated. Take a look at our discussion in [1] for example which we created a JIRA issue for in [2]. However, we are very much in need of enthusiastic people like yourself to help out because the framework is large and there are many areas to cover.
