I should also mention some steps are wrong or weird:
- why install the apache httpd server "apache2"?
My reply: I understand that Ofbiz requires Apache to run
No, you don't need "Apache" (HTTPD) to run OFBiz. Though having a frontend proxy (could be also Nginx, etc.) is common in production. I'd not explain the reasons here.

- why "sudo" gradlew?
My reply: In pagehttp://ofbiz.apache.org/business-users.html i tried ./gradlew
loadDefault ofbiz but it did not work, used sudo ./gradlew ofbiz instead and it
began installing.
That's nothing related to OFBiz it's about your platform (OS) and your
permissions there.

- what is this download link? Where did you get it from?
My reply: i was referred
tohttp://apache.saix.net/ofbiz/apache-ofbiz-16.11.04.zip in the
ofbiz.apache.org website to download v 16.11.04
The official donwload links are at https://ofbiz.apache.org/download.html. They redirect you to mirror sites which help the ASF (Apache Software Foundation) <https://www.apache.org/> from where you can download the cloned file (remember to check its integrity, you never know...)

<https://www.apache.org/>
- where is the data preparation step?
My Reply: what data preparation step?? I was only informed about installing JDK
then in the pagehttp://ofbiz.apache.org/business-users.html i was given few
steps to build it after downloading and extracting.
Sorry for asking but where exactly do i get the readme.md file? i have been
looking for a link to it. Do i go to user documentation?
The README.md is at the root of your downloaded archive once unarchived.
Also here for the R16 version http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/ofbiz/branches/release16.11/README.md?revision=1826378&view=co but that's for the latest available revision (ie 16.11.04)

await your reply
I trust this helps
