Hi Sheryl, I think the thinking there was that a user may in fact use "removeProductType" to simply "disable" a product type, but may later somehow want to undo that.
Ideally the function should have an option as to whether or not to actual remove the met and refs tables, but that's not there, yet... ^_^ Patches welcome!
