I am sorry, I should have gotten back to the list earlier with this. We
found the issue and it was that zookeeper had died. And it actually showed
in the log, if I looked a little more carefully at them. As to the point
where it seems to hang, this was inside Hive which was being called by
Sqoop and some Hive code tries to acquire read and write locks to a table.
I am guessing that is done through zookeeper and there we stopped
investigating since we found out that zookeeper was down.
