I'm sorry if this is dumb .. but I still can't see the bit about building / compiling.
Hi,
The page - http://www.openejb.org/cvs.html - provides the instructions.
Basically, it boils down to installing Apache Maven and running it within the directory where the OpenEJB sources are. Having done that, target/openejb-1.0-SNAPSHOT becomes the current home dir of OpenEJB.
And I had indeed read that page before .. surely there should be a section after ..
"Getting the Source"
which reads ..
"Building the Source" (compiler used, make etc.)
That's the name of the section I had added right before I responded to your previous email (that's why I added the smile, which was because you couldn't read it before although I responded you should have :)).
e.g. .. I'm having a go at building jikes from source with -encoding option ..
build instructions here ..
http://www-124.ibm.com/developerworks/oss/jikes/faq/dev- compiling.shtml
Don't follow it. Do you care if OpenEJB is built using jikes or javac?
Make sure you've got Sun JDK installed and Apache Maven. That's what I'm familiar with so I'm able to answer your question. I don't know how to set up jikes as a java compiler for Maven.
I'm looking for similar instructions on building openejb1 from source.
Or am I missing / misunderstanding something from your page http://www.openejb.org/cvs.html#building ?
Hmmm, just ask. What troubles are you facing?
Jacek
