please write to user-list instead of direct emails (
http://openmeetings.apache.org/mail-lists.html you need to subscribe first)

1) our demo server is for testing purposes so you can use it :)
2) you can invite people from your LAN only in this case (or you need
external IP accessible by others) own server is preferable because of
better performance
3) to set up OM server you need hosting with root access and good inet
bandwidth
4) OM is licenced under business friendly Apache license you can use/modify
it for free http://apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0.html
