Link opening in OM chat

When posting a link in the chat window in a conference the link works, 
but looks like it is not opening in a new tab or window. Is there a 
simple way to change that.  Currently I am telling people to <right 
click> and opening in a new tab.  But was wondering if there is a 
simpler way.

On the same lines.  When uploading a file word document or power point, 
can it be easily made to make the document "interactive" As someone 
posts a word documents with Useful Links, but the links themselves are 
not "clickable" in the document and the individuals have to type them in 
to another browser window.  Wasn't sure if it was just the way the 
documents are being sent to the white board that are not interactive for 
myself.
