I'm subscribed to Tomcat user@ list :)
But I'm not sure their answer is correct :(

I'm using this [1] script to control OM at demo server
And it works as expected ....

Not sure what is wrong :(
Maybe it is something CentOS related ...
I'll try to start/stop and Ubuntu and will write back
