The key 'redirect.url.for.external.users' is configured, and works as expected in moodle side, however, any user trying to log in to OM directly (not from moodle) gets the error message ' Access denied. You are not authorized to perform this action.' options are 'exit' and logout', that is on OM page not moodle.

What do you mean by "the issue of not being able to use OM stand alone with moodle." ?

so you have `redirect.url.for.external.users` config
and "Exit" is not working for you?

Moodle 3.9.2+ (Build: 20201105) and has been like this since
        older
        versions of moodle.

        versions of OM.

        1. login to moodle

        2. Enter the assigned course.

        3. click on the icon of the room

        4. after we finish, click on 'exit'

        5. we get the message box ' Invalid hash - Access denied. You
        are not
        authorized to perform this action.'

In "normal" OM you would exit to room list
this is not possible for external users

    please create `redirect.url.for.external.users` String config
value and set it to valid URL
this URL will be used ro send user on exit
We did that since using this plug in, but that did not solve the
issue of not being able to use OM stand alone with moodle.

(I, personally, prefer to close the tab :))))
We use the option of 'in frame' will try to modify it to new tab
    and close it.

        6. press 'ok' of the message box.

        1. You need to register, after registration

        2. Login and go to site home.

        3. Enroll your self in the first course in the list.

        4. Logout and login, you will have your dashboard with the
        course on it.

        5. Enter the course.

        6. Try any of the rooms by clicking on the OM link next to
        the icon

And when exiting the room from moodle, it displays the
