Hi Felipe! I made all running with tomcat-7.0.54 and did reproduce your problem.
It seems that you fire a CDI event to a SessionScoped bean from a HttpSessionListener#sessionDestroyed. I fear this is just not supported by the spec. Your workaround by observing the event in an @ApplicationScoped bean and then delegating through to a @SessionScoped one just doesn't work. The reason is that the sessionDestroyed method gets invoked from inside the container and not via a web request. Thus we just don't setup the ThreadLocal which contains the sessionId yet. We could do this, but it's not defined in the spec. So even IF we would provide this you would operate FAR outside the specified behaviour. Why not just simply use a @PreDestroy in your SessionScoped beans? The error happens in my example when the session expires, and then i execute the method using the implementation of my facade, so when the error happens. I used the workaround you post in your blog, firing the event to use another java bean with application scope and than i got the same error. I hope you understand my situation and can help me in this difficulty. Regards 2014-08-09 6:15 GMT-03:00 Mark Struberg <[email protected]>: Hi felipe!
