Is there any way to use community edition for more than 100 users without
buying the commercial one

Hello, just looking for some clarification on exclusive access.

I know ownCloud requires exclusive access to the data directory, but does
ownCloud require exclusive access to any custom mounts that are added?

For example, our users have access to several smb shares. I'd like to make a
few of these drives available for access on ownCloud to a few of our users.
If these shares are mounted in ownCloud, will this cause any issues?

Thanks,

Hello,

It is possible to mount a SMB share in ownCloud and also use it externally.

Note however that ownCloud might not always be able to find out what has
been changed remotely (files changes without going through ownCloud),
especially when it's very deep in the folder hierarchy.

You might need to setup a cron job that runs "./occ files:scan --all"
(or replace "--all" with the user name) to trigger a rescan of the user's
files periodically (for example every 15 minutes), which includes the
mounted external storage.

Cheers,

Vincent
