Hello,

One of the features I miss the most in ownCloud is using it as a caldav
client. I see that it's already been requested and is planned for
ownCloud 8 [1], but in the meantime, I wonder if it's possible to
work around it.

My scenario: I still can't stop using Google Calendar, as I have some
shared calendars there that I need to follow. However, I don't want to
keep jumping from ownCloud and Google Calendar -- I would just rather
see all my appointments in one place. As I rarely create/edit events
in these calendars, I can say a read-only sync (or 1-way sync) would
be enough for now for me.

Anyway, since I can download an ICS file from Google Calendar and import
it on ownCloud, I thought I could just create a cron job to do it for
me.

This cron job should:
1. Download an ICS file from Google Calendar;
2. Remove the corresponding existing calendar;
3. Install downloaded ICS.

Does that makes sense? Any comments and hints are highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Martin
