I have owncloud 7.0.4 running under apache 2.2.29 with mod_php and
SSL/TLS under NetBSD 5-stable, on a fairly slow small computer (500 MHz
Geode, 512 MB ram). I am finding it to be painfully slow. The machine
itself does not seem to be paging, and is doing very little else (no
X11, no gnome).

If I reload a page from the webserver from firefox, I see that SSL
session caching is working Because of mod_php, I'd expect that new
requests would not spin up a new php interpreter. The owncloud web page
is very slow, and calendar refreshes from android also seem very slow.

So, I'm wondering if the usual carddav/caldav connectors do tls session
caching.

I also wonder if I should be switching to fastcgi. (I know some people
prefer nginx with fastcgi.)

Or perhaps something else is wrong.

Thanks,
Greg
