Greetings,

I am running Scientific Linux 6 and up until today I had been running
stock httpd/php for Owncloud 7. I finally had a free night to hack on my
dev server and I wanted to upgrade to Owncloud 8. Here is the short recap:
* I removed httpd and PHP
* installed "Software Collections"
* configured httpd24 and php55
* ensured that I had the original Owncloud 7 install functioning w/ SSL
over Port 443 using the new http24 / php55.
* ensured that my clients synced and everything was happy.

At this point, I was running the latest Apache 2.4 along with PHP 5.5. I
should be golden for Owncloud 8, right?

I installed 8 just as I have done many times before, I went to my
Owncloud page, and I got the nice message saying the install was
upgrading. Finally I got a nice message saying that Owncloud had
successfully updated and it was going to take me back to the home page.
Having never used "Software Collections" before, I was rather pleased by
how easy this whole process went.

Except, it never took me back to the home page. It is just a blank white
screen.

Well that is odd...

I dug around in the httpd log files, there are no errors. Everything
looks good. Looks like Apache is passing on to the Owncloud directory
just fine.

Oh! Maybe it is SELinux! Nope...I checked every permission I could think
of. I did a restorecon on everything. Then I did a simple 'setenforce 0'
just to make sure.

Still nothing.

So I poke around at it for about an hour and I am stuck and running out
of ideas to try.

Here is where I am at for the past hour of tinkering:

* the only ssl_error_log entry generated is from what I assume is from
one of my clients trying to chat: "PHP Fatal error: Class
'OC_Connector_Sabre_Principal' not found in
/var/www/html/owncloud/apps/contacts/appinfo/remote.php on line 39"

* It doesn't matter what browser/OS I try, all I get is a blank page.

* when accessing the main page I now get this: "GET / HTTP/1.1" 500 -

* I don't know what changed, but since I re-enabled SELinux and
restarted the webserver, my clients (Linux host and an android phone)
now connect just fine...I can sync and upload files just as I would
expect it to do. So whatever it is, it is def related to the new
httpd/php config. Maybe I am missing a package?? Not all of the packages
lined up 100% from stock to "software collections".

I am hoping it is something simple that I overlooked because I am
getting a bit sleepy, but it is really beginning to get annoying. Any
incite or suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you!
~S~
