the first thing that comes to my mind: what is your hardware? if you run
it on something like a raspberry pi, this would most probably be the
bottleneck.
next thing: what is your storage backend? I know from experience that
some backends, like smb, can be quite slow, and if you have that many
files, you might find the bottleneck there.
then there is this thing called XSendFile, which can be enabled in the
apache configuration. I did not benchmark it, but it might help.
just some thoughts. but since I do not use the sync client for large
amounts of data, it is just speculation.
