Currently I'm also piloting its use as a secure document delivery system (HIPAA, e.g.) and I'm having trouble understanding the security & rights behavior. I expected a couple of things that aren't what I'm observing: 1) I assumed the Admin account would be able to see a global documents view, and move files & folders to either assist or correct other users... or just re-organize. But I actually don't see any way to do that. Am I missing something, or must I log in as other users to maintain the documents that they uploaded? 2) My goal is to have a division of responsibility where a designated person creates new (client) directories as needed, and shares them with a Group. Any member of the group can then upload docs, which become available to the whole group. The same designated person who created the Directory could then "Share by Link" the documents regardless of who uploaded them. Again, that's not what I see. However, originally I had the "Allow resharing" option disabled. I have now enabled that, but it's still the case that only the original uploader can share a document by link. Again, am I missing something, or am I misunderstanding the model? Thanks in advance, Mike ------------------------------ Message: 8 Date: Tue, 24 Mar 2015 13:03:39 -0700 (MST) From: Chris <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [owncloud-user] Group Rights behavior & Admin rights Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Hi, > But I actually don't see any way to do that. If an admin should have access to all files of an user then: 1. The user needs to share those files with the admin or a group 2. The user needs to upload files to a folder which is already shared with the admin -- View this message in context: http://owncloud.10557.n7.nabble.com/Group-Rights-behavior-Admin-rights-tp148 31p14832.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------ _______________________________________________ User mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.owncloud.org/mailman/listinfo/user End of User Digest, Vol 14, Issue 22 ************************************ _______________________________________________ User mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.owncloud.org/mailman/listinfo/user
