Ah OK, problem is I tried chmod it 775 later on with the same result
# chown -R marskj:www-data bup
# ls -l
total 8
drwxrwxr-x 2 marskj www-data 4096 Aug 8 03:00 mailweb
# pwd
/home/marskj/bup/tar
and the indication is still red on
/home/marskj/bup/tar/mailweb
Same if I chmod the directory 777.
