Hi,

please use a current version to upgrade to. To get to OC 8.2, the
correct upgrade path would be
8.0.4->8.0.14->8.1.9->8.2.7

I don't understand your dns-name problem. You can install a copy in a
different subfolder, different server, different subdomain, ... you only
must provide that the paths, database-logins and URLs in your
config/config.php are updated.
