Local index check hbase versions in the latest 4.3 release

Hi, all

When issueing local index creation using the latest 4.3 release, I got the 
following error:
   Error: ERROR 1054 (43A11): Local secondary indexes are not supported for 
HBase versions 0.98.6 through 0.98.8 inclusive. tableName=IDX 
(state=43A11,code=1054)

Version related: hbase-0.98.6-cdh5.3.0

How should that be resolved elegantly? Did I need to upgrade my hbase cluster?
