Very often when I open Pivot applets from Linux, I'm unable to click
inside a TextArea for example to give it focus. When I type, the keys
are actually sent to the address bar of the browser instead of the
TextArea I click in.
This happens both when I deploy with an applet tag, and when I use
deployJava.js. It happens on different Linux distros, but I've only
tested with Firefox. It happens in all Pivot software, even in simple
examples like http://pivot.apache.org/tutorials/text-areas.html.
This doesn't happen in Windows, but sometimes when I tab between
applications and back to the browser window that hosts the applet and
then try to select text in a TextInput, the selection is gray instead of
blue, and Ctrl-C will not copy anything. Another click inside the
TextArea will let me select text with blue background color again, and
everything is fine until I switch context switch again.
Does anyone else share my findings? These problems do not seem to
manifest if I start with Java Web Start.
