How different is your class than the standard Pivot
version? If it is a simple addition/change then I could see adding it
as a patch. If it is quite different, then maybe a different (sub)class
would be good. It sounds good to me as an addition for the future. So,
can you make a JIRA enhancement request and attach maybe a patch either
showing how it would differ from the current or just adding the new
