I am using APACHE-POI to read XL sheet. But I am having a problem in reading integer value. There is column called EMPLOYEE_NO which can have both Alpha Numeric and Numeric Values. If it is a Numeric Value it always return in double.
That is to be expected. Excel will actually store your integer value as a floating point one, and the use the formatting rules on the cell to decide if it should render it as a double or an int.
POI is simply showing you what your file really contains. If you know it'll always be an int, then just cast it to one. Otherwise, check the formatting rules on the cell to decide.
