All the cells for a given sheet go together, so > they'll belong to the most recent sheet you've seen could you be more specific at what you mean by "sheet start record", i dumped out "BoundSheetRecord" however these appears to be the indices only and they get dumped out first before any of the data cell did. which makes it not possible to infer sheet name of a given cell based on the sequence they are listed. also i reviewed the api (specifically org.apache.poi.hssf.record ) and did not find the sheet start record similar to what you proposed.
