There's a couple of open bugs on this area. I'm not sure if there's a bug in our decompression engine, or if there's some other facet of the file format we don't yet understand.
If you have some time, someone needs to run one of these files through vsdump, and see if poi and vsdump agree on the decompression, and chunk definitions (which is probably many hours work, which is why no-one has done it yet). Once we know which bit of the poi code is playing up, and what it should produce, we can hopefully fix it.
