Hi Ramin, The Excel support (XSSF/HSSF) is mature. The Word support (XWPF/HWPF) is not mature. The PowerPoint support (HSLF) is in between.
I am not aware of your offer to make contributions to POI. I am on the project committee, and a search of the archives shows no correspondence about this from you. Contributions are always welcome, but unit tests and a discussion with current developers is important. There is guidance on the website about how to contribute.
