I need to check whether DOC files that people are uploading are password protected. I won't have the password, I don't care what it is or what's in the doc, I just want to know whether the Word will request a password when you try to open the document.
People may be aware that I have another thread on Excel file in this mailing list (Subject: How to check whether an XLSX has a read password), from there I have found out how to check both XLS and XLSX files. I have also confirmed as suggested by Nick that the XLSX approach works for DOCX files. If anyone has any details on how to do this I'd like to hear from them. Thanks Tom
