Anyone have any suggestions for converting a pptx to pdf? I've been googling for a couple of days now and it seems like most solutions are using pay tools or command-line hacks. If I could I would like to keep it to POI/FOP and/or Batik, but I am having a hard time finding an efficient (and free) solution.
Apache OpenOffice (Incubating) or LibreOffice is probably your best bet. You can call them from Java to have the transformation done.
