First post. Here goes…

I have exported some xls and xlsx files from our cm system. They export fine
and I can open and view them in excel.

I created programs in Eclipse to read the files using both hssf and xssf. Some
of the files process ok and I can see the contents. Other files do not
process. The files are not very large (all less than 100kb). Even though a
spreadsheet contains rows the sheet.getlastrownumber returns zero. I get NO
errors but it’s as if the spreadsheet was empty. If I copy the entire contents
of the worksheet to an new spreadsheet then that spreadsheet will process
correctly.

Has anyone come across this?

Thanks.

Mike
