That link looks to be for CF10, not CF9, and doesn't mention anything about any of the dependencies of Apache POI.
I am getting this error: Could not initialize class org.apache.poi.openxml4j.opc.internal.marshallers.ZipPackagePropertiesMarshaller Any ideas about this error?
Look for a full stacktrace with details of why it couldn't initialize the class. My hunch is that CF9 is missing some of the POI dependencies (which come in the binary download), and you'll need to add those into your install too
