Thanks. 

The confusion is understandable.  For these so called secondary artifacts Maven 
expects 'sources' (plural) and 'javadoc' (singular). Very inconsistent but 
somehow this became the convention.

Yeah, I also wonder where these errors always come from. There must be a nest 
where they crawl out from. ;)
Apart of that, we use Ant for the main build and when I've uploaded the 
artifacts to the staging
repository I haven't payed attention, if it's called javadoc/s ... there's no 
check within nexus,
it simply uses the given classifier.
